FAQ'S

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a state of deep physical and mental relaxation. It allows the client to bypass the "analyzer" or "critical factor" of the mind and communicate with the subconscious. This puts the client in a state of suggestibility, which opens the possibility of changes at a deep level.

What is Alchemical Hypnotherapy?

Alchemical Hypnotherapy is interactive trance work using archetypes/guides to empower clients in discovering, aligning with, and living their life purposes.

What if I can't be Hypnotized?

The ability to be hypnotized is a skill anyone can learn, which is very easily taught. If you can sleep it is possible to be hypnotized, or if you prefer, you can think of yourself as not being hypnotized, just relaxed. You will still be able to get the benefit from your session. One thing to remember is that hypnosis from a skilled professional is very different from the images most people have of "stage hypnosis". Lots of people do crazy things on stage, whether under hypnosis or not. Studies have shown that no one can make you do what you don't want to do, in other words, you cannot be made to violate your own moral code of conduct.

What is Hypnotherapy good for?

Hypnotherapy has been applied successfully to the following issues:

  • Help with motivation and career success
  • ADD and children's issues
  • Achieving peak performance
  • Decision making
  • Smoking cessation
  • Weight management
  • Stress and/or anxiety management
  • Enhancing creative potential
  • Dealing with co-dependence and relationship
  • Addiction recovery - in conjunction with a 12-step program
  • Healing issues of childhood abuse and molestation
  • Healing the underlying causes of physical illness (in conjunction with medical treatment)
  • Pain management
  • Enhancing comfort during childbirth
  • Enhancing outcomes of medical treatment

How long will it take to see results?

This is entirely dependant upon the client, and the desired results. The first session is a client interview, to determine the nature of the changes the client wishes to see in their life. An extensive history and establishing of your comfort level with the Hypnotherapist are also part of this session. The subsequent number of sessions is unique to each individual and their process.

What can I expect from a professional massage?

Massage therapy sessions generally last about an hour or 90 minutes. Clients are usually asked to remove as much clothing as they are comfortable with and rest on a padded table. The client is covered with a sheet for privacy, and a blanket for warmth if needed. Only the part of the body being worked on is exposed at any given time.

Whether or not to talk is up to the client, the therapist will usually try to accommodate the client's needs. However, sometimes not talking enhances the state of relaxation you are able to enter. Regardless, do feel comfortable to communicate your needs and feedback during the session.

Lotions or oils are used during the session. If you have an allergic response you should let the therapist know. Relaxing music and a peaceful atmosphere is also part of the massage experience.

Define the bodywork/energy techniques you provide...

Oncology Massage
With physician approval, gentle, nurturing, massage and energy techniques are used on patients who are undergoing, or have undergone cancer treatments, such as chemotherapy and radiation. These techniques help to reduce pain, alleviate nausea, soothe anxiety and aid insomnia.
Orthobionomy®
Orthobionomy® is a body-work technique, which works with the body, exaggerating the body's preferred postures, and allowing the body's self-healing process to create greater balance and alignment. It is a very gentle, yet very effective technique. It has helped people with arthritis, whiplash, sports injuries, and muscle pain. It works with the body's proprioceptive nervous system to release acute and chronic pain.
Reiki
Reiki is an ancient form of hands on healing. The word Reiki is Japanese, and means "universal life force energy". Reiki energy flows through the practitioner, then through the practitioner's hands, which are placed over specific parts of the body to direct energy to the client's body. Reiki brings about deep relaxation, and can enhance mental, physical, emotional and spiritual growth.
Reflexology
Reflexology uses specific touch techniques on reflex maps resembling the human body that are believed to exist on the feet, hands, and outer ears. The simplified version of western theory is that there are many nerve endings in these areas, and stress causes irritating chemicals to build up, which slows the flow of energy, so the body doesn't get the nerve impulses it needs to function properly. Reflexology reduces the blockage and the flow returns.
Swedish Massage
Swedish massage involves the use of hands, forearms or elbows to manipulate the superficial layers of the muscles to improve mental and physical health. Active or passive movement of the joints may also be part of the massage. The benefits of Swedish massage include increased blood circulation, mental and physical relaxation, decreased stress, muscle tension and improved range of motion.
